In a world where passion and purpose often take divergent paths, Carol Solange Wobusobozi has found a way to merge the two, building a thriving business empire while empowering women to rise beyond limitations.
A wife, mother of three biological children, one adopted son, and a guardian to many more she affectionately calls “children God has added to me,” Carol embodies the strength and grace of a woman living out her divine calling. Armed with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, she is the CEO and founder of Solange Bridals Ltd, a company that specialises in bridal gowns, makeup for all occasions, and tailor-made garments. Yet beyond the glamour of the bridal industry lies a deeper mission: to empower young women with practical skills that lead to financial independence.
A childhood dream woven in thread and fabric
Carol’s love for fashion began early. “When I was young, I used a needle and thread to adjust my clothes whenever they became boring,” she recalls with a smile. “I liked everything about clothes. Even though I did not study fashion formally, I pursued it personally because it was something I loved at heart.”
That early fascination with design laid the foundation for what would later become a successful fashion and beauty brand, one that not only dresses brides but also transforms lives.
Turning struggle into a calling
After completing her studies, Carol, like many young graduates, faced the harsh reality of unemployment. “I searched for a job in vain,” she says. “At the time, I was a single mother and needed to find a way to take care of my child.”
With faith and determination, she borrowed a sewing machine and began stitching her dreams into reality. “I used my passion for fashion to take care of my child,” she explains. “Through that, I developed a desire to empower young women, especially single mothers, to acquire a skill that could help them earn a living rather than depend on abusive relationships or handouts.”
From that humble beginning, Solange Bridals Ltd was born, now a fully-fledged fashion house offering bridal wear, hairstyling, makeup, and a line of organic hair products.
The birth of solange organic hair products
Carol’s line of organic hair products was born out of personal struggle. As a breastfeeding mother, she experienced severe hair loss and breakage. “I tried many products, but nothing seemed to work,” she recounts. “When I researched, I found that many women were facing the same problem.”
Driven by curiosity and conviction, Carol turned to nature. Inspired by 1 Corinthians 11:15, which speaks of a woman’s hair as her glory, she believed God had placed natural solutions within Africa’s own resources. “That is how I discovered the power of Shea Butter and Sunflower Oil,” she explains. “These ingredients, combined with essential oils, help reduce dandruff, prevent thinning, and promote healthy hair growth.”
Today, Solange Organic Hair Products are helping women regain confidence and beauty, especially in the hot African climate where hair maintenance can be a challenge.

Impact on the community
The ripple effect of Carol’s work has been felt far beyond her business. “Our products have made morning preparations easier for mothers and children,” she says. “We have helped women gain confidence because we believe beauty ignites purpose. We ignite the woman in you by igniting your beauty.”
Through her enterprises, Carol has created employment opportunities and continues to mentor young women in tailoring, product processing, and personal development. “It is hard to measure how many people have been empowered because impact often happens quietly,” she reflects. “But I have directly mentored at least four women in tailoring and hair product processing, and many more in life.”
For Carol, leadership is not about power but service. “Being in leadership as a woman has been a journey of learning and growing,” she says. “I have learnt that to lead is to serve and to walk roads others are not willing to take.”
Her secret to perseverance? Faith and vision. “It is important to have a vision and remind yourself of it whenever you feel weak,” she advises. “Be patient with yourself, leadership is a process. And above all, trust the Lord, for He gives us the power both to will and to do.”
Among the best pieces of advice she has ever received, Carol recalls one that continues to anchor her: “Stop viewing yourself through the eyes of men but rather through the eyes of God. In the eyes of men, you will never be enough. If you are going to pursue the dreams God has put in your heart, you do not need anyone’s permission.”
When asked how she wants to be remembered, Carol does not hesitate. “I want to be remembered as a worshiper of God and as someone who loved people deeply,” she says.
From a young girl adjusting her own clothes to a CEO shaping lives through fashion and faith, Carol Solange Wobusobozi’s story is one of resilience, divine purpose, and the power of turning passion into impact.
